The Anti-Ragging Cell at Gems College is a dedicated entity committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all students, free from the menace of ragging or any form of harassment. Comprising faculty members, staff, and student representatives, the cell works tirelessly to prevent instances of ragging, raise awareness about its harmful effects, and provide support to victims. Through proactive measures such as orientation sessions, awareness campaigns, and strict enforcement of anti-ragging policies, the cell endeavours to create a culture of respect, tolerance, and mutual support within the college community. Additionally, the Anti-Ragging Cell serves as a confidential platform for students to report incidents of ragging or seek assistance, ensuring that appropriate action is taken swiftly and effectively. By promoting a zero-tolerance approach to ragging and fostering a culture of empathy and solidarity, the Anti-Ragging Cell plays a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being and dignity of all students at Gems College, promoting a conducive environment for learning and personal growth.

Vision
To build a ragging free environment by instilling the principles of democratic values, tolerance, empathy, compassion and sensitivity to that students become responsible citizens
Mission
To create an atmosphere of discipline by passing a clear message that no act of ragging in college premises.
Objectives

To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.

To bring out an awareness among the students about the consequences of ragging.

To keep a constant eye and vigilance over ragging so as to prevents its occurrence.

To address any ragging issues immediately and taken action as advised by the committee.

Anti-Ragging Cell executive meeting will held at thrice in a year.

Punishment

As per the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, students found guilty by the Anti-Ragging Squad may face one or more punishments based on the nature and severity of the offence.

Warning , writing apology letter

Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.

Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.

Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.

Withholding results.

Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.

Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel.

Cancellation of admission.

Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.

Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
