The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GEMS Arts and Science College is hosting a 7-day Faculty Development Program from June 8 to June 16, 2026 (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM). Featuring 7 distinct sessions led by 7 expert speakers, the program focuses on "Transforming Classrooms into Centers of Innovation, Skills, and Academic Excellence."

As part of the Environment Day celebrations, the Department of Travel and Tourism, in collaboration with the Tourism Club, organized a Poster Making Competition on 5 June 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in Room No. 106. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the importance of protecting natural resources. It also sought to enhance students’ understanding of environmental issues and encourage them to become responsible citizens committed to environmental sustainability. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight students of Semester 3 and Semester 5. The theme of the competition was “Promoting Environmental Awareness, Responsible Travel, and a Sustainable Future.” The guidelines specified that participation was individual, posters had to be original and hand-drawn on A3-sized sheets, any drawing medium could be used except digital art, and the posters had to reflect the given theme. The participants displayed remarkable creativity and awareness through their posters, effectively conveying messages related to environmental protection and sustainable living. Hana Harish (S3) secured the First Prize, while Sreya V (S3) and Fathima Nidha T (S5) shared the Second Prize. Sanjay C (S3) won the Third Prize. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners, and all participants received certificates of appreciation. The event was a great success in promoting environmental awareness and inspiring students to contribute towards a greener, cleaner, and healthier planet.

GEMS Arts and Science College at the CANNY – Consortium of Colleges Scholastic Meet and MoU function hosted by Nehru Arts and Science College. Looking forward to strengthening academic collaborations, institutional partnerships, and opportunities for students and faculty.

The Department of Management Studies, in association with the Department of Travel and Tourism Management, conducted an awareness programme titled “Powering Innovation with Intellectual Property Awareness” on 31st March 2026 at 11:30 AM in the MP Narayana Menon Hall, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram.
The resource person, Adv. T. G. Madhavan Unni, a practicing lawyer in business, corporate laws, and taxation, delivered an informative and engaging session. He explained the concept of intellectual property and highlighted the significance of protecting inventions, creative works, designs, and brand identities. The speaker elaborated on different types of intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and geographical indications. He also discussed the legal procedures involved in registration and protection of intellectual property.
The session included practical examples and real-life case discussions which helped students understand the importance of IPR in business development and innovation. The resource person also emphasized the consequences of plagiarism, piracy, and copyright violations, and encouraged students to adopt originality in academic and professional work. The session aimed to provide fundamental knowledge about various forms of intellectual property and their relevance in business, corporate practices, and modern industries.
An interactive question and answer session was conducted at the end, where students actively participated and clarified doubts regarding IPR registration and its applications in various industries. A total of 89 participants attended the programme and submitted feedback. The overall response was positive, and the programme was found to be highly informative and beneficial for students.

An Anti-Drug Awareness Program was conducted on February 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Ramapuram Town, MPN Hall. The program was organized by the Anti-Drug Cell of GEMS College (Autonomous) with the aim of creating awareness among the public and students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society. The program began with the flag-off ceremony led by Sri Pradeep Rao, Assistant Excise Commissioner and Vimukthi Manager. This marked the formal commencement of the awareness initiative. The welcome address was delivered by Anoop V, Excise Circle Inspector, who warmly greeted the dignitaries and participants and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in combating drug abuse.

The presidential address was delivered by K. V. Juvairiya, President of Mankada Block Panchayath, who highlighted the growing concerns related to substance abuse and the need for community-level interventions. The program was officially inaugurated by Sri Manjalamkuzhi Ali, who addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of awareness programs in shaping a healthy society.

The felicitation session included speeches by several distinguished guests such as Adv. Haneefa Perinjeeri, Rumaisa Kunnath (Standing Committee Chairman), Sadiqali Pathikal (Welfare Chairman), Praseena (Chairman of Health and Education), Sri Pradeep Rao, and Dr. Nveen Mohan, Principal of GEMS ASC. Each speaker shared valuable insights on the social, psychological, and legal aspects of drug abuse and encouraged active participation in prevention initiatives. An awareness class session was conducted by P. Biju, Assistant Excise Inspector and Vimukthi License Officer..

The session provided detailed information about the dangers of drug addiction, its impact on individuals and society, and the legal consequences involved. It was informative and engaging, helping participants understand the seriousness of the issue. The program also included a pledge led by Sri Yunas M, Excise Inspector, Perinthalmanna, where participants committed themselves to staying away from drugs and spreading awareness among others.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by K. Ramakrishnan, Assistant Excise Inspector, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the event a success.

The Women Development Cell of GEMS Arts and Science College organized a Short Story Competition as part of the International Women's Day Celebration 2026 themed The Colour Purple. The event was held on Friday, 13 March 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Library Reading Room. The competition invited participants to write short stories with the slogan “Got the Words? Pen Them Down!”, encouraging creativity and literary expression. A total of 16 students, including the host students, participated in the competition, showcasing their storytelling skills in the Library Reading Room. The event aimed to foster women’s development and creative writing talent among the participants, celebrating International Women’s Day with literary expression aligned with the colour purple theme.

Thc Staff Recrcation Committc and Staff Club of Gems Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram, organized an Iftar Meet for teaching and non-teaching staff on 5th March 2026. The cvent was hcld at collegc premises, aiming to promote camaraderie and celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
The meet witnessed a good turnout of staff members, who came together to share a meal and bond over cultural cxchanges. Thc event was marked by warm interactions, and it provided an opportunity for staff to conncct bcyond thcir professional roles. The Ifar Meet concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the sense of community and inclusivity within the college.

The primary objective of the program was to foster camaraderie, strengthen interpersonal bonds among all the teaching and non-teaching staffs, and usher in the New Year 2026 with a spirit of gencrosity and joy. The New Year Friend Gift Exchange Program was successfully conducted on January 8th, 2026, at the MP Narayana Menon Hall. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from everyone across various departments, turning the venue into a vibrant hub of excitement. The program commenced with a formal welcome address delivered by Dr. Abdussamed V, Vice Principal. Following the welcome, the gathering was addressed by Dr. Naveen Mohan
The highlight of the program was the gift exchange session. Participants had previously drawn lots o determine their "Secret Friend" for the day. The hall was abuzz with anticipation as everyone brought creatively wrapped gifs. The event concluded with a vote o thanks proposed by Mr. Jeevesh, Staff Club convenor.
The program was highly successful in achieving its objectives. It provided a much-needed break from academic rigor, allowing staffs to interact in a relaxed and joy ful environment. The exchange of gifs served as a tangible symbol of the bonds shared within the college community, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.

The Staff Recreation Club of Gems Arts and Science College, Ramapuram, organized a Staff Onam celcbration on 29th August 2025, bringing together both teaching and non-teaching staff
for a day filled with fun, camaraderie, and celebration. The event was held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Event Highlights:
The event saw enthusiastic participation from a majority of the staff members, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. A variety of engaging activities and competitions were conducted, allowing staff members to showcase their talents and skills. The events were designed to
promote teamwork, creativity, and healthy competition. Winners of each event were awarded delightful prizes, adding an element of excitement and motivation to the celebrations.

Objective and Outcome


The primary aim of the Staff Onam celebration was to enhance the connection among team members and provide a joyful atmosphere for relaxation and bonding. The event successfully achieved its objectives, as staff members from different departments came together, interacted, and enjoyed each other's company. The celebration also provided a platform for the staff to explore and showcase their hidden talents, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie,
The Staff Onam celebration was a resounding success, creating memorable experiences or all participants. The Staff Recreation Club deserves appreciation for organizing such a well-planned and enjoyable event. The event not only strengthened the bond among the staff members but also showcased the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Kerala. It is hoped that such events will continue to be organized in the future, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

The Staff Recreation Club of GEMS Arts and Science College (autonomous), in collaboration with Staff Commitee, Organized a one day tour to Ooty on 19" July 2025. The tour aimed at enhancing the connection among the team members and allows them to enjoy the beauty of nature. The trip started from the college premises at 5:00 am and the team returned by 12:00am. 42 members from the college participated in the tour. Ooty was selected as the destination for the trip.
The primary objective of the tour was to enhance much better relationships between the staffs, which is very essential to build a harmonious and productive work environment. The tour was a success and helped to strengthen the bond among the staff members.
