Various honors, including the Best Outgoing Student (UG and PG) awards, Best Non-Teaching Staff Award, Best Housekeeping Staff Award, and Best Faculty Award, along with other special nominations, were conferred upon deserving students ​, staff members​ other categories staff members non teaching  in recognition of their outstanding contributions and achievements in various areas  In addition, the faculty members who represented the institution at the National Research Expo conducted by the Kerala State Higher Education Council were also felicitated for winning the Best Stall Award. The celebration of the 18th Foundation Day and 16th Chairman’s Lecture Series was a meaningful and inspiring event that reinforced the institution’s dedication to academic excellence, research, and community engagement.

The Department of Multimedia, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram, in association with the Photography Club, Newspaper and Journalism Club, and Film Club, organized the “MEGA Production Release Program” as part of the department’s Annual Celebration with Productivity. The program was conducted on 4 March 2026 (Wednesday) at 11:30 AM in the Prem Nazir Audio Visual Theatre. The objective of the program was to showcase the creative works and media productions developed by students of the Multimedia department. The event served as a platform to highlight students’ achievements in media production, journalism, filmmaking, photography, and broadcasting.

During the program, several major productions created by the students were officially released. These included the GEMS Gazette – Campus Newspaper, the Photography Magazine 2026, one documentary film, two short films, the television program “Vox Pop”, a television interview, and the latest episode of the GEMS Vani Radio Program. These productions reflected the students’ creativity, technical skills, and dedication to media excellence.

The event was attended by faculty members, students, and invited guests who appreciated the efforts of the Multimedia department and its clubs in promoting creative media practices within the campus. The program also encouraged students to actively participate in media production and collaborative projects. The MEGA Production Release Program was a great success and demonstrated the department’s commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and professional media skills among students. The event strengthened the culture of practical learning and media engagement within the college community.

A delegation of S4 UG and S2 PG Biotechnology students from our institution visited the Department of Biotechnology, NIT Calicut on 25th February 2026. The visit aimed to explore modern updates and advancements in the field of Biotechnology.

The Department of Travel and Tourism Management, in association with the Tourism Club, organized VENTURA 2K26 – Association Inauguration and National Tourism Day Celebration on 13 February 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Library and Research Centre of GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous). The programme was conducted with the objective of inaugurating the department association and celebrating National Tourism Day. The programme commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Ms. Anju K P, Assistant Professor, Department of Travel and Tourism Management. She welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students of BTTM, and highlighted the importance of organizing such academic and industry-oriented programmes. The Presidential Address was delivered by Ms. Arathy P Rajan, Head of the Department of Travel and Tourism Management, who emphasized the importance of professional competence, skill development, and dedication in building a successful career in tourism and aviation sectors. The function was further enriched by felicitations delivered by the Vice Principal, Mr. Sandeepan (Head of the Department of BBA), Mr. Rihas (Faculty, PG Department of English), and Mr. Jeevesh (Faculty, Language Department). They appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing the programme and encouraged students to make use of such opportunities for academic and professional growth. The official inauguration was carried out by the esteemed chief guests, Ms. Greeshma Krishna, Senior Cabin Crew, Air India Express, and Mr. Manoj Thampan, Regional Vice President, Alhind Academy. In their inaugural addresses, they shared valuable insights from their professional experiences and motivated students to develop communication skills, confidence, and industry readiness to excel in the competitive tourism and aviation industries. Following the inaugural session, a prize distribution ceremony was conducted to honor the University Examination Rank Holders. Students who secured first, second, and third positions from each batch (first year, second year, and third year BTTM) were awarded and appreciated for their academic excellence. The programme continued with informative sessions by both chief guests. Ms. Greeshma Krishna delivered an engaging session on career opportunities in aviation, responsibilities of cabin crew, safety standards, and the importance of customer service and professional grooming. Mr. Manoj Thampan conducted an insightful session on emerging trends in the travel and tourism industry, industry expectations, skill enhancement, and career pathways. The sessions were interactive and highly beneficial for the students. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks. In the afternoon, a film screening session was organized at the Prem Nazir Audio Visual Theatre.

The PG Department of Social Work, GEMS Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Ramapuram, conducted Alumni Lecture Series – 13 on 24 February 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Room No. 902 (PG Block). The session on the topic “Role of Social Worker in Community Based Care” was delivered by Ms. Shifla C (2020–2022 Batch), Community Development Officer at Ability Foundation for the Disabled, Malappuram. The programme began with a warm welcome address by Fathima Najwa N, who highlighted the importance of alumni interaction in connecting academic learning with field practice. A total of 31 students participated in the programme.

During the session, the resource person shared her professional journey and provided detailed insights into community-based care and rehabilitation. She explained the various roles and responsibilities of a social worker in community settings, including assessment, intervention, case management, multidisciplinary coordination, community mobilization, and advocacy for persons with disabilities. She also discussed practical challenges faced in fieldwork and strategies to address them. The session was interactive, and students actively engaged in discussions and clarified their doubts regarding practice and career opportunities.

The programme successfully achieved its intended outcomes, as participants gained clear understanding and valuable information about the role of social workers in community-based care. The session enhanced their practical knowledge, awareness of professional responsibilities, and insight into real-life field experiences. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Naheema M C, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all participants for making the session meaningful and informative.

The PG Department of Social Work organized the Alumni Lecture Series 12 on 30th January 2026 at Room No. 902, PG Block from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 32 students were participated. The invited resource person for the programme was Mr. Thanzeer Azhicode alumnus of 2021-23 MSW Batch, Public Relations Officer, Oncology Department, GG Hospital, Trivandrum.
The session was on the topic “Medical Social Work – Healing Beyond Medicine”, Started with a formal welcome speech by Fiba K, first semester MSW, followed by the topic discussion by the resource person. The session addressed an introduction to medical social work, roles and responsibilities of a medical social worker and public relation officer, challenges faced by medical social workers, essential skills and competencies required in medical social work practice. The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively engaging through questions and discussions. The real-life insights shared by the resource person helped students gain a practical understanding of medical social work beyond theoretical concepts. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Ms. Ayisha Hiba M 1st year MSW. The 12th Alumni Lecture Series was informative, engaging, and beneficial in enhancing students’ professional awareness and career orientation in the field of medical social work.

The Student Seminar Series, organized by the Research and Innovation Centre in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), was successfully conducted on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, at 12:00 PM in the MP Narayanamenon Hall. The seminar featured a student presentation by Mr. Akash Peethambaran, S4 BTTM , from the Department of Travel & Tourism. He delivered an informative talk on the topic “Future Trends in Tourism” The presentation highlighted the emerging developments in the tourism sector including the impact of digital transformations, and evolving traveler preferences.

The Training and Placement Cell organized a Recruitment Drive on 16th February 2026 from 9.30 AM to 1.00 PM at the MP Narayana Menon Hall. The drive witnessed the participation of two reputed companies – Malabar Trading Company and Pinnacle Technologies.
The session commenced at 9.30 AM with a brief welcome and orientation for the company representatives. Students were briefed about the recruitment process and interview schedule. Both companies conducted their selection process through one-to-one personal interviews, providing candidates with an opportunity to directly interact with the recruiters and showcase their skills, knowledge, and communication abilities.
Malabar Trading Company focused on assessing candidates’ subject knowledge, confidence, and suitability for the offered roles. Similarly, Pinnacle Technologies conducted individual interviews evaluating technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and overall personality of the candidates.
The recruitment drive was conducted in a smooth and systematic manner under the coordination of the Training and Placement Cell. The company representatives appreciated the arrangements and the quality of students who attended the interview.
The drive concluded successfully at 1.00 PM. The program provided valuable exposure to students and helped them gain real-time interview experience, enhancing their confidence and career readiness.
Overall, the recruitment drive was well-organized and beneficial for the participating students.

The initiative provided valuable industry exposure and career opportunities for the 2026 batch students. The Campus Recruitment Drive was highly beneficial and well-coordinated.
