A seminar on "Navigating Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities for Multimedia Creators" was conducted on March 24, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Room No. 503. The session was led by Mr. Ajith M.P, a renowned media analyst, and attended by 31 final-year Multimedia students.

The seminar aimed to educate students on the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the digital era, especially for multimedia creators. Mr. Ajith M.P. provided valuable insights into copyright laws, trademark protection, and the ethical use of digital content. He highlighted key challenges such as piracy, unauthorized use of creative works, and legal aspects of content creation. Additionally, he discussed emerging opportunities for creators, including licensing strategies and digital rights management.

The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in discussions and clarifying doubts regarding intellectual property issues. Practical case studies were presented to help students understand real-world scenarios.

Overall, the seminar was informative and beneficial for aspiring multimedia professionals, equipping them with essential knowledge on protecting their creative works. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the resource person's expertise and the active participation of students.

The Department of Multimedia, in association with IQAC, organized a seminar on "The Future of VFX in Entrepreneurship" on March 21, 2025, at GEMS Arts and Science College, Ramapuram. The event aimed to provide insights into the growing opportunities in the VFX industry and its entrepreneurial prospects.

The session was led by Mr. Selva Raj, an esteemed expert in the field of Visual Effects. He shared valuable knowledge about the latest advancements in VFX technology, industry trends, and the potential for starting a business in the multimedia sector. His presentation highlighted how students could leverage VFX skills to build successful careers and innovative ventures.

A total of 26 multimedia students actively participated in the program. They engaged in interactive discussions, asked thought-provoking questions, and gained practical insights into the entrepreneurial aspects of VFX. The seminar also covered essential topics such as freelancing opportunities, VFX startups, and the demand for skilled professionals in the entertainment and gaming industries.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Mr. Selva Raj for his enlightening session. The students expressed their enthusiasm for more such industry-oriented programs that bridge academic learning with real-world applications.

The PG Department of Social Work of GEMS Arts and Science College organized a workshop on Reference Citation Tools for MSW students on March 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The session was conducted at the Geoinformatics Lab and was facilitated by Ms. Anitha Parveen, Head of the Department of Social Work.
The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance students' knowledge and skills in using reference citation tools, which are essential for academic writing and research. The session covered various citation tools, including Zotero and provided hands-on training on how to use these tools for reference management, citation generation, and bibliography formatting.
Ms. Anitha Parveen elaborated on the importance of proper referencing in academic and research work, highlighting different citation styles such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. The practical demonstration helped students understand how to import references, organize them systematically, and integrate citations into their research papers seamlessly.
The workshop was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and practical exercises. They clarified their doubts regarding citation errors, plagiarism, and best practices for referencing. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where students received personalized guidance on using citation tools effectively.
Overall, the workshop was well-received by the 20 participating students, who expressed their appreciation for the insightful and practical session. The event successfully equipped students with essential reference management skills, contributing to their academic and research excellence.

Gems Arts and Science College, Nature club organised the programme of launching the Nature club's Jersey to its members on 18th March, 2025, Tuesday at 1.45pm. The Jersey launching was done by the College Principal Dr. Naveen Mohan. The programme was organised by the Nature club Coordinator Shri. Abdul Latheef Aslem. C.
All the Nature club members also took part in the Jersey launching function. The programme could impart the relevance of Nature club in a College and all the members were really rejuvenated on such a right step taken up by the Nature Club.

The program began with the inauguration ceremony, where Mr. Shabeer, Secretary of KAPS Malappuram Chapter, lit the lamp and officially inaugurated the event.
Miss Anitha Parveen J, HOD, PG Department of Social Work, Gems Arts and Science College, delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the importance of the panel discussion and the relevance of the topic.
The keynote address was delivered by KAPS Malappuram Chapter Coordinator, Treasurer, and Assistant Professor, Sree Shankaracharya University Tirur Regional Centre Social Work Department, Swalih Sir. The keynote address set the tone for the panel discussion, providing valuable insights and perspectives on the topic.
The panel discussion was moderated by Mr Anas Tharakan, Assistant Professor, Gems ASC and featured a diverse panel of experts, including:

The panel discussion was engaging and informative, with panelists sharing their experiences, expertise, and perspectives on the topic. The discussion was followed by a Q&A session, where the audience had the opportunity to engage with the panelists.
The felicitation ceremony was led by Mr. P.M. Fasal, Mr. Safeer, and Miss Gadhaa, who delivered felicitations and appreciated the efforts of the organizers and panelists.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Miss Gopika M, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Social Work, Gems Arts and Science College.
The panel discussion was a resounding success, providing a platform for experts and stakeholders to share their perspectives and experiences on the topic. The event was well-organized, and the audience appreciated the informative and engaging discussions.

      The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, researchers, and students, both physically and virtually. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in an interactive question and answer, where Dr. C.Anandharamakrishnan addressed their queries regarding green energy solutions, food technology advancements, and sustainable industrial practices.The lecture was highly appreciated for its relevance to contemporary global challenges, particularly in the domains of renewable energy, climate change mitigation, and sustainable food systems. The insights shared during the session sparked discussions on innovative research opportunities within the institute. The event also witnessed the launch of “GEMS Nexus”, a journal of diverse disciplines, which aimed to publish book chapters in interdisciplinary subjects.

Doha: Former students of GEMS Arts and Science College, who are currently working in Qatar, came together for a grand alumni reunion. The event, titled Qatar GEMSians Reunion Thirike 2025,"took place on March 7, 2025, at *M.R.A Restaurant near Al Qatar Center, Doha.

The reunion was graced by the presence of Dr. Naveen Mohan, Principal of GEMS College, and M. Vasudevan Master, Vice Chairman, as chief guests. It served as a nostalgic gathering for alumni to reminisce about their college days and reconnect with their peers.  

A large number of GEMS alumni, currently working in various sectors in Qatar, actively participated in the event. Speaking at the gathering, Dr. Naveen Mohan expressed immense pride in seeing such reunions being organized across different countries, including Qatar, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and London.

The event, which commenced at 3:00 PM, concluded with a special Iftar gathering, marking a memorable and heartwarming reunion.

The Alumni Lecture Series-4, held on March 7, 2025, was a special event that coincided with the International Women’s Day celebrations. The lecture, titled "Breaking Stereotypes: Challenging Societal Norms”, was delivered by Labeeba Mohammad, a renowned social worker, motivational speaker, public speaking mentor, and life skill coach.The event was organized to commemorate Women’s Day and to inspire and empower women to break free from societal stereotypes and norms that often hold them back. Labeeba Mohammad’s lecture was a powerful call to action, encouraging women to challenge these norms and to strive for equality and inclusivity.The lecture was well-received by the audience, who were inspired by her passion and dedication to creating positive change. The event provided a platform for attendees to reflect on their own biases and assumptions, and to consider ways to challenge and overcome them. In the program total number of 34 students where participated.Overall, the Alumni Lecture Series-4 was a thought-provoking and motivational event that celebrated the spirit of Women’s Day and encouraged attendees to strive for a more inclusive and equitable society.
